The movies on this Best Movies of The Decade 2000-2010 list run the gamut of styles and stories, from comedies to dramas, Hollywood blockbuster to surprise independent sensation, from an instant American animated classic to a Chinese martial-arts epic.
Some of the films are pure entertainment done with sass and inventiveness (Kick-Ass, The Incredibles) or are heartwarming jewels (Whale Rider, March of the Penguins). Others may change your outlook on life forever (Eternal Sunshine, The Lives of Others). There’s something for every movie lover on this list.
Note: While I’m a huge fan of some blockbuster series that came out in this decade (namely The Bourne series and The Lord of the Rings trilogy), I’ve omitted them from the “best of” list to allow space for other films.
